Counselling
In Person. Online. Outside.
What can I support you with?
Anxiety
Those thoughts and feelings that become loud voices in our minds, that overcome us and drive us to a place we don’t want to be. Anxiety can affect all parts of our daily lives, but with the right support it can be managed, allowing you to get back to who you really are...
Stress
The demands on us in everyday life are high. We are constantly pulled this way and that, meeting others needs, ‘going above and beyond’ until we are overwhelmed. Whether it’s the workplace, our homelife or something else, we need a safe space to decompress and make sense of what is happening.
Neurodiversity
Whether you have recently been diagnosed, have been living with something or if you just feel something isn't right but can’t put your finger on what it is, counselling can help. I have experience with BPD (EUPD), ADHD and ASD and provide an accepting space to explore what these mean to you.
Addiction
I work alongside organisations such as AA and NA to help you to understand your addiction. Finding the courage and strength to stop drinking or using can be very hard. I will support you during this difficult time and work with you to understand how you found yourself in active addiction, helping you not to return and build a life worth living again.
Self Discovery
Sometimes it can be very hard to understand or express what is wrong, but your feelings are genuine and valid. I will support you to explore those feelings safely and help you to understand them. Sometimes we don’t know why we want counselling, we just need someone to talk to. That’s perfectly fine too. I’m ready to listen to you.
Trauma
Our life experiences help to create the person we become and we adapt and create coping strategies to manage traumatic situations. Sometimes those coping strategies no longer serve us and actively stop us from processing how we actually feel about what happened. Counselling provides a way to safely open ourselves to these experiences and find ways to restore the balance between coping and our true selves.
Relationships
A connection to others, whether it's our partners, friends or work colleagues, forms incredibly important aspects of our lives. Sometimes things don't go the way we'd hoped and having support to navigate this helps us to move through difficult times and onwards with our lives. If you're recently divorced, going through a breakup or wondering what your next steps are, I can help
Depression
That low feeling that we just cannot shake, however much we try and whatever positive perspectives we place on it.
Depression is debilitating and stops us from moving forwards with our lives. Counselling helps you explore underlying emotions, identify unhelpful thought patterns, and develop new ways to cope.
My Approach
My practice is based around you and your needs. I work to build a relationship with you based on trust, respect and acceptance. My goal is to create a safe environment to empower you to explore, discover and understand your true self. I believe in working at your pace on the things you feel are important. Every session will be based on what you want to bring; if you want to work on something specific, offload, explore or just talk I will follow your lead. My agenda is your agenda, to support you with whatever you need to bring to the sessions.
I provide a calm, warm, accepting experience from my purpose built premises at my countryside home in Cullingworth, near Bingley. I can offer online sessions if you would prefer and also have access to a therapy room in Keighley if travel is difficult. Alternatively, I can offer counselling outside of the therapy room, walking in the beautiful countryside around Cullingworth.
